| Looking forward to school being back in session. I thought summer was supposed to be a vacation. Guess it's not for the mom. When school starts I'll only have one child home with me, cause yes you guessed it Grace is starting Kindergarden. Where does the time go? I'm kind of emotional about it, but at the same time I'm looking forward to alone time with Sarah-Rose. I'm enjoying my time with the worship team and our fellowship group at our new church. It's amazing how different our experience has been with this church. We've connected and been accepted so quickly. Feeling more spiritual growth too. And yes I am a SparkPerson, I've lost 20 lbs so far with SparkPeople.com, and hope to lose 45 more. Exercise and eating healthy are the keys, along with a great support team which includes my hubby and my online SparkTeam. My goal is to lose the weight by my 40th birthday, in December. 40 and Fabulous will be my motto! Or maybe it should be Hot Mamma! | Still busy workin at Davidson College. Its a great place to work. And I'm officially going to be getting a real office, not moving yet though. I'm enjoying being a part of the worship at our new church. Lake Norman Fellowship. It is stretching me but I'm still finding great joy in it. Also enjoying fellowship with our small group. One of the biggest things happening in my life is my new healthy lifestyle, I followed Sophie's lead and joined SparkPeople.com. I'm making better choices in the way that I eat and I'm exercising more, and I'm losing weight. 12 lbs so far, Sophie says I'm gonna blow away. Goal for me is 164, thats a 20 lb loss. Pushups are our friends! Hoping it will all show a good results at my next physical. Blood pressure was borderline for needing meds, and I've been on meds for my cholesterol for years. Hope to at least be reducing the dosage by getting healthy. |
Becki |
Robert |
| Becki will start her first day of college classes on Aug. 17th, thats less than 2 weeeks away. She will be majoring in music education, starting with an ASS in Fine Arts, then she will transfer to a 4 year school in her junior year. She is in love with Aaron, and getting very serious with the young man. It's the longest relationship for her to date. They want to get a place together and possibly get married. They will have some obstacles to overcome to accomplish that, like saving money and paying off debt. I'd hoped she'd wait a while, but there is no telling her NO, so we'll just see how it all plays out. | Recently a licesned driver and a bonified owner of a '94 Honda Civic, the boy is going places. He's made pit captain of the marching band, and is excelling in his leadership role so far. Impressing the band teacher and other band staff, well and his mom. He is a dedicated worker at Zaxby's. It's a fast food chicken chain in this area. A junior in high school this year, he hopes to get a scholarship constructing his prom attire entirely out of duct tape. Yup you read it right! That is Robert though, he's a hoot! |
Bethany |
Grace |
| Mommy's best little helper. She is a great baby sitter. She helps with the kids when we go to fellowship group. She has helped a granny with her 4 grandchildren who are all under age 4 and she gets nothing but praise for it. She will be in 8th grade, last year in middle school. I swear they all growing up way too fast. She has developed a bit of a teen attitude but we are trying to nip it in the bud, not an easy task with girls. Why is that? | She's 5 and starts her first day of Kindergarden on Aug. 26th. She will ride the bus and everything. Her teacher's name is Mrs. Roper. I think she will thrive but I'm just a tad nervous for her and for mom and dad too. We are so accustomed to having her home and being her constant protection, now we have to put her into the hands of others boy its not an easy task. She is a very bright child, and very social, so I'm sure she will do great. Mom and Dad will be the ones who need therapy. |
Sarah-Rose |
|
| Soon to be 4 years old, and she is making so many strides. Talking up a storm, and just such a joy. We all are in love with her. Now we can add bully to the list of things that Sarah-Rose is. She did it to defend her baby doll though, so really it was just precious. She proved you don't mess with her baby doll. And we discovered she gets jealous for attention, when mommy or Bethany tries to love on the other kids at church. She doesn't mind sharing us with Grace but other kids are her limit. I opted not to put her in a preschool program and keep her home this school year. We'll just continue with her therapy at the school, with the same therapists. | |
